Hero Lost

Hero Lost is a creative non-fiction book based on a year of public school that ends up ending in disaster academically, socially and romantically.  It follows one young man and his coping tools to deal with rejection by his family, disconnection from his past and trying to invent a present that can both make sense of his past and lead to a future worth living for.

Five juniors and two freshmen come of age in an age of potential atomic destruction, idyllic movies about the future of prosperity and the loss of identity as corporate climbing come of age.  These teens only know that the future is no longer promised and the generation before seems to be too busy dealing with themselves to raise any teenagers.
